| Retreats focus on team development. They are opportunities
for new teams to accelerate their development as well as existing
teams to strengthen relationships and performance. These retreats
can also be utilized as a reward for a job well done.
Whitewater Rafting Team Expedition – May
through September
The Lochsa River, located in north central Idaho’s Clearwater
National Forest, is one of the premier whitewater rivers in the
west. Snow melt in the spring creates one of the wettest rides
in the country within this steep granite valley. Due to the technical
challenge of the river and the ever-changing water in this wild
environment, we run the same section of the river on the first
and the third day of our trip. The single-day trip covers about
22 miles and 40 class III-IV+ rapids. We only contract with a professional,
experienced guide service who considers the participants’ safety
as paramount. They are licensed by the Idaho Outfitter & Guide
Licensing Board and provide all necessary equipment.
The whitewater rafting trip provides a completely different experience
than typical training programs. Your team leaves their usual environment
and is thrust into an unknown experience. The amazing result is
that the issues which surface are the same type of issues that
happen in the work environment. Different surroundings, same issues.
Our job is to facilitate those issues and help the group constructively
handle the situation. Learning models and processes are used to
assist the group in working more effectively. These ‘skill-building
sets’ can readily be adapted once the team returns to the
office.
Evenings are spent at the country resort with other recreational
activities available including horseback riding, fishing, and
kayaking. Meeting space is also available.
Pit Stop Racing Challenge
Lap
your competition. Learn how to practice effective teamwork and
hit on all cylinders. This program includes three sessions.
Starting
your engines
During the first program, we use an individual assessment tool
that focuses on defining leadership, understanding the leader-follower
relationship, understanding natural and chosen leadership styles,
and assessing and developing personal leadership styles.
 The Great Race
The second session is the Go Kart Racing day. This is done with
various Go Kart games such as tag-team Go Karts, Follow the Leader,
and individual and team racing. These activities bring out leadership
styles and qualities. Participants are issued helmets, neck braces,
gloves and racing suits to use while driving up to 40 m.p.h.
4-5 inches off the ground. We only contract with a professional
racetrack that considers the participants’ safety as paramount.
Winners Circle
The third session is spent combining the previous two programs
into a complete package. We will compare the Go Kart driving
day with the assessment to analyze leadership styles and group
dynamics. Processing these activities will provide unique perspectives
for each member of the group. Participants will learn about their
styles and how to work together with other styles to perform
as a team back in the office.

Mountain Oasis
This program provides a great opportunity for your group to leave
the stressful work environment and head to the beautiful mountains
of Colorado. This can be a time of relaxation and rejuvenation
and a chance to focus on team development and checking your priorities.
Typically, people are so busy with their jobs that they forget
to slow down and find out what is really important to them.
We will spend three days at a beautiful resort nestled in the
mountains working on creating ways to becoming a more successful
team. Facilitators will help the group spend time working not only
on team issues that produce tangible results but also on individual
issues which allow group members to be more focused and effective
when returning to work. Additional activities include hiking, horseback
riding, skiing, shopping, mountain biking, or exploring, depending
on the group’s desires.
